Nigerian-British robotic engineer, Silas Adekunle, who is the co-founder and former CEO of Reach Robotics, a UK-based company specializing in augmented reality gaming, has made history as the world’s highest-earning robotic inventor at 33.

Silas made history by creating MekaMon, a four-legged robot with lifelike movement, designed for both gaming and STEM education. It became the world’s first intelligent gaming robot that combined lifelike robotics with augmented reality. By integrating robotics with augmented reality, the system brought video games to life in an innovative and immersive way.

As the CEO and co-founder of Reach Industries, he is spearheading the development of Lumi, a cutting-edge visual intelligence platform designed to advance science automation.

Silas is passionate about innovation and education in Africa. Through Awarri, a company he founded, he is working to develop advanced technology that solves real-world problems and inspires young African innovators.

He was named in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Technology” for both Europe and Africa.

His achievements in robotics and technology have earned him global recognition. He was named in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Technology” for both Europe and Africa, listed among the “Top 100 Minority Ethnic Leaders in Technology” by the Financial Times, and included in the prestigious “Maserati 100” List.

His tech startup, Reach Robotics, landed a landmark deal with Apple, putting MekaMon on global shelves and spotlighting African excellence in innovation. Although the company has closed, Sila’s impact continues to inspire a new generation of tech pioneers.

In an exclusive interview with Rotus Odiri on Arise TV, Silas shared some plans his team has for Nigeria and Nigerians. He revealed that his team has plans to build the largest and first large language model for Nigerian languages.
