Samsung Electronics, today, revealed its slimmest smartphone, Galaxy S25 Edge, rivalling Apple’s iPhone ‘Air’, which is reportedly set to be made public later this year.

“The feedback was clear; users wanted something slimmer and easier to carry without sacrificing performance,” said Samsung, which made structural changes to reduce the thickness of internal components.

During the launch, Samsung dismissed concerns about potential performance and heat management issues with its S25 Edge phone, stating that the company has designed a thinner vapor chamber to fit the slim design, and they are confident that the device can be used without concerns about overheating.

Full specs

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is just 5.8 millimeters thin and weighs 163 grams, making it one of the thinnest smartphones on the market.

It features a streamlined silhouette, curved edges, a sturdy titanium frame, and a new glass ceramic offering. The Galaxy S25 features a 200MP wide lens, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with autofocus, and the ProVisual Engine optimized for the S25, providing sharp details for clothing and plants, and natural skin tone in portraits.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is fully equipped with Galaxy AI-powered editing features, including Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist. It has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, delivering fast performance and advanced AI image processing with ProScaler. It integrates AI agents across multiple apps, enhancing convenience and privacy. The device also ensures data security through Samsung Knox Vault.

Analysts believe this move is a pre-emptive strike following the widespread speculation that Apple will have a thin iPhone in its next line-up.

Galaxy S25 Edge will be available in a captivating range of colors, including Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Icyblue.

The S25 Edge will go on sale in South Korea on May 23 and in the United States on May 30, Samsung said, adding it will roll it out to about 30 countries, including China and in Europe, starting at $1,099.
