Is the 2025 Tesla Model 3 the best EV so far?

The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most popular electric cars in the world. It’s known for being fast, high-tech, and fun to drive. With recent upgrades (called the “Highland” update), Tesla has improved the car’s ride comfort and interior quality, fixing a few things people used to complain about. That’s one reason why it made it to the Car and Driver 10Best list this year.

However, the Model 3 still has some unusual features: it doesn’t support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and now it has removed some basic controls like gear selectors and turn signals from their usual spots — they’re now buttons on the steering wheel or screen.

What’s new in the 2025 model?

  • The Standard Range model (the cheapest one) has been removed.
  • Now, the lineup starts from the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive and goes up to the Performance model.

How much does it cost?

  • Starts at $44,130
  • Goes up to $56,630 depending on features and trim

A look at the engine, power, and driving experience

All Model 3 versions are quick and smooth. They all use electric motors for instant speed, and the battery is placed under the car, which helps with balance and makes it feel steady around corners.

  • Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range: 0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds
  • All-Wheel Drive Performance: 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds (very fast!)

The Performance version also gets a sportier suspension, better brakes, and fancier tires.

Battery, range, and charging

  • RWD Long Range: Estimated 363 miles
  • AWD Long Range: Estimated 346 miles
  • Performance: Estimated 296 miles

In real-world highway driving:

  • RWD Long Range got 310 miles
  • The performance version got 260 miles

Charging options:

  • Tesla Superchargers (very fast)
  • Public DC fast chargers
  • Home chargers (240V recommended)

Interior and comfort

The inside of the Model 3 is super minimalist — just one big touchscreen in the middle controls almost everything. No traditional buttons.

  • Front seats: Comfortable and supportive
  • Back seats: Not as roomy; tight for adults
  • Trunk space: Room for 15 carry-on bags with rear seats folded
  • Extra storage: Lots of small cubbies and bins.

Teach and Infotainment

  • No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
  • Comes with Netflix, YouTube, games, and navigation
  • Rear passengers get an 8-inch touchscreen for climate and media

Tesla’s Autopilot system is advanced but still needs the driver to pay attention at all times.

If you’re thinking about going electric, the Tesla Model 3 is still one of the best options out there. It’s quick, techy, stylish, and with the latest updates, it’s more comfortable and refined than ever.
