Subaru is charging ahead in the electric vehicle race with the reveal of its newest model, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted. This all-electric SUV is set to make its global debut on July 17, and it promises to bring bold design, powerful performance, and serious off-road capability to the EV market.

According to Subaru, the Uncharted will be the brand’s third electric vehicle, joining the Solterra and Trailseeker in its growing EV lineup. Designed for drivers who love adventure, the Uncharted features sporty styling, exciting acceleration, and rugged features that make it ready for both city streets and mountain trails.

As InsideEVs reports, the Uncharted will be revealed in New York and is expected to be a compact crossover SUV. It’s built for versatility, offering a mix of comfort and capability. Subaru hasn’t shared full specs yet, but early teasers suggest it will have dual-motor all-wheel drive, strong towing capacity, and advanced traction systems for off-road driving.

The Uncharted is also expected to include Subaru’s X-Mode Dual-Mode System, which helps the vehicle handle tough terrain like snow, mud, and steep hills. This system, along with features like Grip Control and Downhill Assist, will make the Uncharted a strong choice for outdoor lovers, according to Electrek.

In terms of design, the Uncharted shows off a sleek roofline, slim taillights, and a bold front end. It’s likely to offer modern tech inside too, such as a 14-inch touchscreen, digital driver display, and wireless phone charging. As Motor Illustrated notes, the Uncharted may share design elements with the upcoming Toyota C-HR, including similar powertrain options and interior features.

Buyers can expect two versions: one with 221 horsepower and front-wheel drive, and another with 338 horsepower and all-wheel drive. The driving range could reach up to 500 kilometers on a full charge, depending on the model. Subaru is also including a NACS charging port, which means drivers can use Tesla Superchargers for fast and easy recharging.

Subaru’s move to expand its EV lineup is part of a bigger plan. By 2030, the company aims to have 50% of its global sales come from electric vehicles. The Uncharted is a key step toward that goal, offering a mix of eco-friendly driving and Subaru’s signature go-anywhere attitude.
