Kia Corporation has launched a premium in-car streaming service across Europe. The service will be debuting on the recently introduced EV3, and will be extended to the new Sportage, EV4, EV5, and all upcoming models.
Kia’s Entertainment Package is an optional feature that converts in-vehicle experiences into multimedia experiences. Video streaming enables occupants to transform the car into a private cinema, ideal for sharing memorable experiences with friends and family; this feature is only available when the vehicle is parked.
The premium entertainment packages are powered by LG’s webOS-based Automotive Content Platform, which allows users to stream, connect, and interact with a variety of content and applications.
Kia’s Entertainment Package offers access to popular streaming apps and content services like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, LG Channels, Haystack News, Stingray Karaoke, and Play. Works, Baby Shark World for Kids, Vasari, Joyn, and Napster.
Additional content and services will be introduced later this year, with continued expansion planned to enrich the user’s experience. Access to some apps may require a separate subscription. Users can also enjoy enhanced audio through music streaming services.
Kia will offer three tiers of its Entertainment Package, including Entertainment Standard, Entertainment Plus, and Entertainment Plus WIFI. Each tier offers monthly and annual subscription plans, with options varying by package. Entertainment Plus and Plus WIFI include a one-month free trial with a minimum commitment.
Kia plans to expand its content services and providers to provide diverse entertainment options. Disney+ is currently available in the UK, Germany, and France, while Entertainment Standard supports music streaming and YouTube via Obigo. LG’s webOS-based Automotive Content Platform is not available.
