In a grand celebration of elegance, innovation, and automotive excellence, Ghanaian businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite unveiled the Despite Automobile Museum yesterday, June 1, 2025, at East Legon, Accra.

The grand museum was commissioned by the Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who took a detailed tour of the museum together with other dignitaries.

The automobile museum aims to be Ghana’s premier destination for car enthusiasts, history lovers, groups, and families seeking an unforgettable journey through time and innovation.

Displayed inside the museum were his signature antique classic cars, supercars, and elegant motorbikes. The museum also has an ultra-modern hospital, a barbering salon, a massage centre, and many departments for tourists’ pleasure.

Dr. Kwame Despite has nursed his love for cars since childhood and has finally brought this dream of sharing his passion with the world to fruition. Aside from his genuine love for cars, the businessman used his love for cars as a business strategy because, according to him, driving a good car commands respect and honor.

The millionaire businessman is known for his love for cars and for continuously adding to his fleet of expensive cars. He owns a lot of luxurious and vintage cars that sometimes get Ghanaians talking.

Inside his garage are a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, approximately $4.5 million; a Bugatti La Voiture Noire, estimated at GH₵18 million; Bugatti Chiron, which costs $3 million.

He is the first Ghanaian to own a Bugatti Chiron. He also owns a McLaren 720S Spider, which has a starting price of $315,000; a Rolls-Royce Sweptail, estimated at $13 million. The latest addition to his collection is the Tesla Cybertruck, which recently arrived at the port, making him the first person to own a Cybertruck in Ghana.

This development adds tremendously to the Ghana tourism industry, as it opens the door to people from all over the world in the country. It has also come to provide employment to the public, especially the youth. The automobile museum will be open to the public very soon.
