Ride-hailing giant Bolt is stepping up its game in Cape Town with a brand-new fleet of Citroën vehicles, and what’s even more exciting is that this rollout is being led by two inspiring women entrepreneurs. The move is part of a bigger effort to improve mobility while also empowering local drivers with better tools and opportunities.
As of now, 21 new Citroëns are already cruising through the streets of Cape Town. But that number is expected to rise to 64 vehicles by the end of June. This isn’t just about adding more cars — it’s about building a more inclusive and supportive transport system for both riders and drivers.
The project is backed by a powerful partnership between Daisy Kisten, Country Manager at Auto24, and Elize Faivelowitz, Director of Pro Driver Placements. These two women are not just providing vehicles; they are helping reshape South Africa’s ride-hailing industry.
According to Lerato Motsoeneng, Bolt’s Senior General Manager for South Africa, “This launch represents a pivotal moment for Bolt in Cape Town. Working with leaders like Daisy and Elize allows us to grow responsibly while empowering local businesses and drivers.”
Here’s how the partnership works: Auto24, under Kisten’s leadership, is responsible for sourcing, refurbishing, and maintaining the vehicles. On the other hand, Faivelowitz’s Pro Driver Placements is in charge of managing and deploying the fleet. “Every Bolt-branded Citroën has gone through a full lifecycle with us,” Kisten explained. “It’s mobility, done right.”
For Faivelowitz, it’s about more than just transport. “This is about dignity and stability for drivers,” she said. “It’s more than just cars — it’s about people.”
This rollout comes at a time when demand for reliable, road-ready vehicles in Cape Town is growing rapidly. Bolt says that by providing ready-to-drive cars along with support services, they’re lowering the barriers for drivers to earn a steady income and operate safely.
Additionally, the new Citroën fleet will also serve Bolt Business customers, meaning corporate clients can now choose transport options that align with their values, such as women-led enterprise and community empowerment.
