President Donald Trump landed in Qatar on Tuesday, May 15, 2025, and made a grand, beautiful entrance into the capital, Doha, escorted by a motorcade, led by two red cybertrucks. The president was accompanied into the country by fighter jets and welcomed with a red carpet after landing.
It’s not Trump’s first time being spotted with a Tesla. In March, he bought a red Model S sedan after Musk brought a selection of the EVs to the White House for a demonstration. President Trump is also expected to visit the United Arab Emirates during the trip.
President Trump’s arrival in Qatar is one of three stops on the first overseas trip of his second term. The trip is aimed at making business deals, along with addressing diplomatic issues like Iran’s nuclear program and Israel’s hostage crisis.
The Cybertruck appears to have a special place in Qatar, even prior to Trump’s arrival. Social media posts from the nation in late December claimed that the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) was using two Cybertrucks as part of its patrol fleet. In a number of other parts of the nation, the futuristic all-electric pickup trucks have also been sighted.
