The world has entered a new era of transportation with the introduction of the AirCar, a revolutionary flying vehicle developed by Klein Vision in Slovakia. This futuristic car, which can transform into an aircraft in less than two minutes, is now officially certified for flight.

Since its maiden flight in 2021, the prototype has logged 170 hours in the air, completing over 500 takeoffs and landings during rigorous testing. Engineers have now developed a lighter second version, shedding 440 pounds through a more advanced composite construction. This updated model also features a refined engine from Adept, equipped with full-authority digital engine controls (FADEC) to enhance performance and simplify flight operations.

The latest AirCar model will also see improvements in speed and cockpit space, according to Klein Vision’s Anton Zajac. He said, “This will climb and fly faster than the first prototype, and we’ve put in a larger cockpit.” The vehicle will come equipped with Garmin avionics, be autopilot-ready, and boast a flight range of 620 miles—while still being able to travel 500 miles on the ground.

With a price tag between $800,000 and $1 million USD, the AirCar is expected to hit the market in early 2026. Once the second version completes 50 hours of test flights, it will qualify for an EASA airworthiness certificate, allowing Klein Vision to introduce it in Europe. The company also has long-term plans to distribute the AirCar in Asia and North America, expanding its reach to global markets.

During its official unveiling at the Living Legends of Aviation Gala Dinner in Beverly Hills, inventor Stefan Klein shared his vision for the AirCar’s future. “The AirCar fulfills a lifelong dream to bring the freedom of flight into the hands of everyday people,” he said. “With the launch of our production prototype, we are one step closer to transforming how the world moves—merging the road and the sky into a new dimension of personal mobility.”

Experts believe the AirCar could transform travel, enabling individuals to bypass traffic and reach destinations with greater speed and efficiency. As excitement builds, many wonder whether flying cars will soon become part of daily life. With technology advancing rapidly, this launch may be the first step toward a future where the skies are as accessible as the roads.
