Africa’s largest electric vehicle (EV) company, Spiro, has taken a bold step toward greener transportation with the official launch of its latest electric motorbike, and this time, they’ve teamed up with Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, Davido, who is popularly called Davido.
Davido had revealed the partnership early this year but further reiterated its impact at the Africa CEO Forum 2025 with Spiro’s CEO for Benin, Placid Alognissou. They also announced the unveiling of the new model during a short session with award-winning Nigerian journalist Rufai Oseni.

The sleek superbike, already creating buzz online, is a fusion of cutting-edge EV technology and bold cultural influence.
In a chat with Rufai Oseni, Davido shared his excitement about the partnership, saying the bike was designed with the younger generation in mind, especially his fans.
The new model comes with vibrant aesthetics, two striking colour blends, and features that include built-in music playback, hands-free calling, and navigation, turning every ride into a connected, stylish experience.
“You know a lot of my fans are youth. So we made the design with them in mind. If you look at this bike, you won’t even know it’s an E-bike. It plays music, the whole system; phone, call, text, Apple Music,” Davido said, adding that he is “proud to be part of a movement that empowers African youth and supports clean energy.”
For Spiro, this collaboration is about more than just transportation. Benedict Okey Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank, described it as a “combination of two great things”, a great artiste and a great innovation, working together to reduce carbon emissions, fuel youth innovation, and boost Africa’s creative economy

The event also highlighted how Spiro leads a quiet revolution in African mobility. With over 22,000 electric bikes deployed and more than 300 million kilometres driven emission-free, the company is redefining urban transport on the continent. Its tech innovation centres in Pune and Lagos continue to drive breakthroughs in battery-swapping and smart energy solutions.
In a new development, Davido reacted positively to the partnership deal with the brand as he shared some of his greatest moments at the official launch of the Davido Collectible and Alpha+. “An electric bike designed with purpose, built for Africa, and by Africans,” He wrote.
He further highlighted that he and his designer, Kayode Yajuar, crafted every detail of the superbike to merge culture with engineering.
“What we launched in Abidjan was more than a product—it was a statement.
At the Africa CEO Forum, I joined @spiroev to unveil the Davido Collectible and Alpha+—electric bikes designed with purpose, built for Africa, by Africans.
@blacktycoone and I crafted every detail to merge culture with engineering—because when we ride, we represent.
With support from @afreximbank, this vision is scaling fast: local factories, smart tech across West and East Africa, and clean energy built on African soil,” Davido wrote.
As the Africa CEO Forum spotlighted innovation and sustainability, Spiro’s moment with Davido served as a powerful reminder: the future of transportation in Africa is not just electric, it’s also youthful, stylish, and powered by the rhythm of the continent.
